Yesterday at the Discovery Museum we saw this really cool, very simple
exhibit. They had hair dryers, ping pong balls and a small basketball
net. The challenge was to get the ball into the net using the dryer.
It was a lot of fun and the kids learned a little too. The boys worked
to figure out the right amount of air pressure to float the ball.
Shmitty was challenged to simply slow down and hold the dryer steady
in order to keep the ball afloat.
This is way too easy to do at home. You can take this activity in any
direction also. I was thinking of: blow dryer obstacle races, getting
a ball on someone's head, or the how high challenge. Play and enjoy
your own air time.
